Behind Door 66

Introducing... Buzz Lightyear

This little gorgeous pup is Buzz!

Buzz came to join our family in June when he was only 7 months old, he is a Pomeranian.
He is just a bundle of energetic fluff. Nonstop energy. No idea where all this energy came from. However he is just a little darling, he loves his cuddles and his mama.

A little background on Buzz and why we got him.
So as some of you may know, my grandparents breed Pomeranian's for themselves to show. So my little Buzz is a little champ! He qualified for Crufts at six months old at his very first championship show. He is far too hyper for the show ring though and that's why he just didn't cut it as an obedient show dog.

This is what Buzz thinks of Showing. As you can see he was not a happy puppy for being placed in 3rd.

So fortunately for us, my grandparents decided to sell Buzz. I knew him from when he was first born and I knew I had to have him. Daniel didn't want a Pomeranian but I wanted a small dog and I didn't care that Daniel didn't want a pom, I knew Buzz was coming home with me.

When we agreed to take him, I was actually away on holiday to New York City soon so I didn't want to leave him the same week, as well as dog proofing the garden and also we still had the open tread in our staircase so there was a couple jobs needing done before we could take him to his new forever family home.

I mean, how could you say no to this sweet little face?!

Fast forward 5 months and its Buzz' first Birthday! Of course we do not do anything by halves so.....

And yes! I did buy him a crown, a bottle of beer and a doggy cake! Of course he also got a card and presents. How could I not?! I mean look at that little cutie tootie.

Then came Christmas and again, he was totally spoilt but not only from us. He's got a lot of extended family. He even got a Christmas dinner bowl!

Next was Valentines Day. Daniel got his present but Buzz needed a little gift too. He got a little teddy bear. He takes this bear to his bed every night now. It is very much favourite now.

As you can tell, Buzz has been well and truly spoilt and fits into our house so well. He just completes our little family, even though he is a little money, he is our little monkey!

What would you like to see Buzz do next?

So.. It's been a while!

HELLO! - Sorry for neglecting you lovely lot!

I started this blog in April of 2018 but only wrote 3 posts and then never got round to anymore. Either we had nothing new to share in the house, which in fact we had but life just generally got in the way! We've both had new jobs and had a holiday, oh and got a puppy!

I'd defiantly like to change that. Instagram has been neglected too, it's so hard in winter to get good pictures in natural lighting, and as for the weekends we are normally catching up on the fun stuff like cleaning, washing and food shopping.

So my question for you is, what would you like to see more of?

I do have a few plans that I want to do this year in the house. So watch this space! I will make sure I blog about those changes once we have finished and vlog the mess on Instagram stories to keep you all involved!

Watch this space!

Rapunzel Rapunzel, Let Down Your Hair

What. A. Show.

Thursday afternoon I was a little sceptical of going to see a pantomime in July as they are normally associated with Christmas. Normally in the lead up to Christmas and in the School Holidays to get into the Christmas sprit but how wrong was I!!

Thursday night was absolutely fantastic! It was at the opening show of Rapunzel at The Tivoli Theatre, in Aberdeen.

From the very start to the end, I was in stitches! George Sampson, winner of Britain's Got Talent, has got the most quick witted sense of humour! He was brilliant! Of course, I just wanted to see George do his winning dance, signing in the rain. I wondered how or if they would even manage to squeeze his performance in a Rapunzel show, but you never know with Panto. It's all very 'in the moment'!!

The whole show was absolutely fantastic. The little kiddies dancing were second to none! I'd be balling my eyes out if my child was on that stage! Well done to those little ones and their parents!
There were 62 local children dancing on stage! All from Aberdeen City and the shire! Aberdeen has got some amount of talented dancers that's for sure.

The music was down to a T! So much feel good and well known songs.
I could believe when Price George and Chester had a 'dance off', where Chester danced to Gangnam Style and Price George did his famous Signing in the rain routine. It was phenomenal. I was in awe the whole way, definitely a lot different than seeing it on the TV. He was amazing.

The show has something for everyone! Quite a few adult jokes in there.

Well done guys! It's a 5 star from me! - ★★★★★ -

See you in October guys!

The First Six Months

I have to admit, in our first six months, we have not done a lot of renovations. A lot less than I hoped actually.

The very first thing I most definitely had to get rid of was the old fashioned rail half way up the walls, dado rails. The dado was in our living room and in the hallway. They actually came off very easy but it was the amount of wallpaper and paint on the walls that made it messy and hard to cover up.
We painted the hallway and 3 of the living room walls white and the main living room wall Duck egg. Don't get me wrong you could see marks on the walls where the rails used to be if you knew it was there or looked long enough. We went on holiday to Orlando and Daniel's parents got our walls plastered. So once back, I had to paint again but with the sofa now in the living room too!
After that, we both agreed that there would not be any decorating until into the new year.

The next thing we did in the house was put the TV up on the wall. Now this doesn't sound much but it was chaos. The wall we wanted the TV on, and the only wall the TV could go on, was not strong enough. We couldn't understand why not, this wall is the wall that supports our stair case so by rights it really should be a supporting wall but it wasn't!! Daniel had to cut out a huge hole in the wall, only to find cardboard between the plasterboard. Once we had a hole to work through, Daniel reinforced the wall so that we could get our TV up. This was quite a few trips to our local B&Q, one day we were there 4 times. Not the kind of shopping I enjoy..
We now have a hole in the plaster, covered up by a huge bit of plywood and then the TV bracket mounted on that. We already feel sorry for the next owners of this house.

That was the only renovations we have done in the first 6 months but I have bought plenty to fill the house. I'm always buying, a lot more homely with our own finishing touches, including our brand new sofa.

Here's to the next six months!

The Story Behind Door 66

Hello I'm Morgan and this is my brand new Home Renovation Blog.
It all started on the 1st of September 2017 when Daniel and I, moved into our very own first house.

The name came as our house number is 66 and wanted to share behind the front door of the house so incorporated them together.

We decided we wanted to document our change from house to our home together and what better way to do it. We have used Instagram as our main platform but are now venturing out onto the blogging scene.

So please bear with me as I get used to blogging and coding. This is all very new to me.

I look forward to sharing our journey with you all!
